The Department of Psychiatry at St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals is committed to training psychiatrists and psychologists in clinical practice and research. The Psychiatric Residency Program is approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education. The Psychology Internship Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Training programs include a Residency in Psychiatry (36 positions), Residency in Child Psychiatry (8 positions), Psychology Internship program (12 positions) and Psychology Fellowship program (10 positions). The overarching philosophy of our training programs is to provide exceptional clinical opportunities combined with intensive supervision and a didactic curriculum designed to build the skills and knowledge base of our new practitioners. As a result, residents, interns, and post-doctoral fellows leave St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals with strong clinical skills, an understanding of current research and a mastery of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques enabling them to pursue any career direction they may choose.
